As part of the annual work plan and with the objective of sharing with professionals from different areas of health care, GS1 Costa Rica created the forum “Promoting the health sector and safety of patients 2017”.

The focus of this event, now in its third year, is to promote GS1 global standards in the country with a view to improving medical attention. The event was enrichened by the presence of prestigious international and national experts, like Dr. Estela Izquierdo from Argentina.

Although Costa Rica has one of the best healthcare systems in Central America, healthcare professionals can always improve on eliminating errors in their field. For this reason, GS1 Costa Rica works together with government and the private sector to increase the efficiency of medical centers and, ultimately, to ensure that patients can benefit from a high-quality health system.
