End of June GS1 Member Organisations from the MEMA-region met in Amman, Jordan for a Healthcare training with the focus on engagement with and implementation in hospitals as well as worldwide regulation, AIDC and UDI.

In an afternoon seminar, Els van der Wilden presented the benefits of GS1 standards in hospitals to around 60 local stakeholders from hospitals, manufacturers and the Jordan FDA. Ahmed Kalla, GS1 Egypt, presented the implementation of GS1 standards in the Saudi-German hospital, the learnings, very positive results and next steps.

 A site visit to one of the leading hospitals in Amman, the Specialty hospital, provided very useful insights into why and how GS1 standards can benefit hospitals for both the receiving hospital as for the visiting MO’s.
